1. Terms of Service

The rules you agree to when you create an account or use Skylight.

Who can use Skylight

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your country, to create an account. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.

Accurate information

Provide truthful profile, listing, service, and contact details. Do not impersonate other people or organizations, and do not misrepresent products, qualifications, certifications, or availability.

Direct agreements between users

Skylight is a discovery and communication platform. Skylight does not hold marketplace funds, operate escrow, guarantee delivery or quality, or become a party to agreements made between users. Prices, delivery, and payment are agreed directly between buyers, farmers, and service providers, usually through chat.

Service availability

Features may change, be interrupted, or be withdrawn as the platform evolves. We work to keep Skylight reliable, but the service is provided without warranties of uninterrupted availability.

Termination

You may stop using Skylight and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these policies, abuse other users, or create legal or safety risk for the platform.

2. Privacy Policy

What information Skylight collects, how it is used, and the controls you have.

Information you provide

Account details (name, email, phone), roles, profile fields, farm and business information, listings, service details, demand posts, posts, videos, messages, and support requests.

Information collected automatically

Device and app information, approximate location derived from your selected country and region, and usage signals that help keep the platform safe and improve discovery relevance.

How information is used

To operate discovery, marketplace, services, communities, chat, video, and live features; to show relevant markets, weather, and results for your region; to protect users through moderation and fraud prevention; and to respond to support requests.

What is visible to others

Your public profile, listings, service pages, demand posts, posts, and videos are visible to other users and may appear in public web pages and search engines. Your phone number is only shared according to your privacy settings. Precise location stays private unless you choose to share it.

What Skylight does not do

Skylight does not sell your personal information. Data is shared with service providers only as needed to run the platform (for example hosting, messaging, and payments infrastructure) and with authorities only when legally required.

Your controls

Privacy settings control profile visibility, who can message you, phone visibility, and precise-location sharing. Notification preferences control alerts. You can edit your profile at any time and request account deletion from the Account Deletion page.

3. Community Guidelines

Standards for posts, comments, videos, live sessions, communities, and chat.

Be honest

No scams, fake listings, fake demand posts, misleading claims about produce, inputs, or services, or manipulated engagement.

Be respectful

No harassment, bullying, hate speech, threats, or discrimination against people based on who they are.

Keep it safe

No content that promotes violence, self-harm, illegal activity, or the sale of prohibited or restricted goods, including unregistered agrochemicals and counterfeit inputs.

Keep it relevant

Skylight is an agricultural community. Spam, repetitive promotion, off-platform pyramid or investment schemes, and adult content are not allowed.

Protect minors

Content that endangers, exploits, or sexualizes minors is strictly prohibited and is reported to the relevant authorities.

4. Marketplace & Services Conduct

Rules for listings, buyer demand posts, and service provision.

Chat-first trading

Marketplace and service flows on Skylight are chat-first. Negotiate price, quantity, quality, delivery, and payment directly with the other party before committing. Treat prices shown on listings as indicative until confirmed in chat.

Listing standards

List only products and services you can actually supply. Use real photos and accurate quantities, grades, and locations. Remove or update listings that are no longer available.

Prohibited items

Illegal goods, stolen goods, counterfeit or unregistered agrochemicals and veterinary products, endangered species, weapons, and any item whose sale violates the laws of your country may not be listed.

Service standards

Transport, machinery, storage, processing, agrovet, labour, and advisory providers must describe capabilities, coverage areas, and pricing honestly, and hold any licences their trade legally requires.

Payments

Skylight does not process marketplace payments, hold funds, or offer buyer or seller protection on direct trades. Be cautious with advance payments, verify counterparties, and prefer payment on delivery or other methods you trust.

5. Safety

How to stay safe when meeting or trading with people you found on Skylight.

Meeting in person

Meet in public or well-known locations where possible, tell someone where you are going, and inspect produce, inputs, or equipment before paying.

Fraud prevention

Never share passwords or one-time codes. Be suspicious of deals that require upfront fees, urgent off-platform payments, or contacts who refuse verification. Report suspicious accounts through in-app reporting or support.

Reporting

Every listing, post, profile, message, and live session can be reported. Reports are reviewed by moderation staff and may lead to content removal, account restriction, or referral to authorities.

6. Content & Intellectual Property

Ownership and permitted use of content on Skylight.

Your content stays yours

You keep ownership of the photos, videos, posts, and listings you publish. By publishing, you grant Skylight a licence to host, display, and distribute that content so the platform can function, including on public web pages.

Respect other creators

Only upload content you created or have permission to use. Repeated copyright or trademark infringement leads to account termination.

Skylight property

The Skylight name, logo, brand assets, and software may not be copied, resold, or used to build competing or misleading services without written permission.

7. Enforcement & Appeals

What happens when policies are broken, and how to appeal.

Actions we may take

Depending on severity, we may remove content, limit feature access, restrict discovery visibility, suspend accounts, or permanently terminate accounts. Illegal activity may be reported to authorities.

Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was a mistake, contact support with your account details and the action you are appealing. Appeals are reviewed by staff who were not involved in the original decision where possible.

8. Account Data, Retention & Deletion

How long data is kept and how to delete your account.

Retention

Account and content data is retained while your account is active. Some records, such as support tickets, moderation history, and records required by law, may be retained for a limited period after deletion.

Deleting your account

You can request permanent deletion of your Skylight account and associated data at any time from the Account Deletion Request page. Deletion removes your profile, listings, posts, videos, and messages from visibility, followed by permanent erasure from active systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days.

What may be retained after deletion

Records we are legally required to keep, safety and fraud-prevention records, and anonymized aggregate data that no longer identifies you.

9. Changes & Contact

How policy updates are communicated and how to reach us.

Policy updates

We may update these policies as Skylight evolves or as laws change. Material changes are announced in the app or by notification, and the “last updated” date on this page always reflects the current version.
